Charles Tristan Comte de Montholon in the Kingdom of France, the first named executor in this will as confirmed in this paper now marked N.1 and in the three paper writings hereto annexed marked Etat (a)[,] Etat (A) [and] Etat (B) with seven codicils thereto also hereto annexed was duly sworn thereto and that the goods[,] chattels and credits of the deceased do not amount in value to the sum of six hundred pounds (within the province of Canterbury)

The testator Napoleon Bonaparte was late of the Island of Saint Helena and died in May last.

Proved at London with seven codicils 5th August before the worshipful Stephen Lushington Doctor of Laws and surrogate by the oath of Charles Tristan Comte de Montholon the first named executor to whom the admin. was granted being first sworn duly to administer Power reserved of making the like grant to Henry Gratian Comte Bertrand and Louis Marchand the other extors named in the will when they or others of them shall apply for the same.

Enregistré à Londres avec sept codicilles le 5 août devant le Docteur Stéphane Lushington protecteur des Lois et substitut, confirmé selon le serment de Charles Tristan Comte de Montholon exécuteur premier nommé à qui l’on a accordé l’autorisation d’abord dûment juré d’administrer les pouvoirs réservés, de faire le même octroi à Henry Gratian Comte Bertrand et Louis Marchand les autres exécuteurs nommés dans le testament quand ceux-ci ou d’autres                 demanderont la même chose.
